I was cleaning out the chicken coop the other day and found a treasure in the dirt! 🤭 It's a #coin from 1875, and it says "Deutsches Reich • 1875 • 10 Pfennig".
The things it must have seen ... 🤯 (featuring "Wait, you're 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 doing that?" and "No way, you're doing t𝐡a𝐭 again??")

The #GermanEmpire consisted of 25 constituent states and #anImperialTerritory, the largest of which was #Prussia. These states, or Staaten (or Bundesstaaten, i.e. #federatedStates, a name derived from the previous #NorthGermanConfederation; they became known as Länder during the #WeimarRepublic) each had votes in the #Bundesrat, which gave them #representation at a federal level. Several of these states had gained sovereignty following the dissolution of the #HolyRomanEmpire.

Discover a piece of history with this original Neufeldt & Kuhnke telephone from the early 20th century (circa 1905-1915). A true gem, this OB Telephone Model 05, featuring dual induction cranks and a connection box, was once used by the Kiel tax office. It later found its way into the hands of a southern German collector, who kindly exchanged it with us in return for a donation to support Afghan children. We've proudly added this incredible artifact to our company museum collection after significantly increasing the intended donation.

The OB operation (Ortsbetrieb) means the power source for the microphone was at the participant's location, with only the inductively transmitted speech alternating current flowing through the line. Such desk telephones were standard equipment in the German Empire starting around 1905.

Entdecken Sie ein Stück Geschichte mit diesem originalen Neufeldt & Kuhnke Fernsprecher aus dem frühen 20. Jahrhundert (ca. 1905-1915). Ein wahres Juwel, dieses OB-Telefon Modell 05 mit zwei Induktorkurbeln und Anschlusskasten wurde einst vom Finanzamt Kiel verwendet. Es gelangte später in die Hände eines Sammlers aus Süddeutschland, der es uns im Austausch gegen eine Spende für afghanische Kinder überließ. Stolz haben wir dieses unglaubliche Artefakt in unsere Unternehmenssammlung aufgenommen, nachdem wir die beabsichtigte Spende erheblich aufgestockt haben.
Der OB-Betrieb bedeutet, dass die Spannungsquelle für das Mikrofon beim Teilnehmer vor Ort war, und nur der induktiv übertragene Sprechwechselstrom durch die Leitung floss.
