It's hard to ignore the importance of the Erie Canal's influence on the Rochester region. For my final two photos of this series, I chose the Fairport Lift Bridge and the remains of some old wooden canal barges.

With so many old trees and frequent storms the area is full of their broken remnants. This one is in Genesee Valley Park near the river. It's home to an interesting group of fungi that has colonized the lowest section.

After I replaced the seals in the film holder in my Mamiya RB-67 I loaded it up with Kodak Ektar and headed to the old bridge over Red Creek in Genesee Valley Park to check out the colors.
