It seems I’ve reached “I much prefer ‘A Small Victory’ and ‘Midlife Crisis’ over ‘Epic’ and ‘Falling to Pieces’” years old.

I was not even aware of this domain until this exact moment but this retelling of the tale has now given ME that earworm.
For the project I'm volunteering at, someone over Slack wanted to set up a call to discuss things. I said sure, but I don't use Slack much, so bear with me while I figure that out (meaning, where and how to use its A/V chat features). They replied back, "we can always use the phone :)". I don't think they meant it like, we can use the old technology since you're incapable, but at the same time it made me feel comically defensive. "I assure you I can figure out how to use a video chat platform, you little whippersnappers!"
I did have to check if there was a passive-aggressive period on their message. That is still a thing for the Young People, isn't it? #GenXProblems
@gsymon I am also really mad at every adult who told me "No-one will ever pay you to play video games" (as I watch a #Civ7 streamer). #GenXProblems
I’ve been reading Emily Dickinson poems this morning for research and now, of course, the “Gilligan’s Island” theme song is stuck in my head.
I’m writing a novel. I’m not going to say much for fear of jinxing myself, but I have a couple thoughts.
1. It’s set in the present, so the characters text each other, chat on Discord, look at videos on YouTube, and so forth. It’s all perfectly reasonable; it would be weird if they didn’t text, and I do so myself all the time. But it still feels very “hello fellow kids.” #genxproblems
