I don't watch much broadcast TV, so I didn't see this on the Junos award show on the weekend, but it's nice it's available online:

My brother was a huge Rush fan from the time we were teenagers. I was more into other things, but I came to appreciate Rush a lot more over the (many) years since then. Geddy Lee famously commented after the death of drummer/lyricist Neil Peart that (inexact quote) "Neil was Rush; there is no Rush any more".

But a few months back, five years after Neil's death, Geddy and guitarist Alex Lifeson announced they were having fun playing with a new drummer, a young woman named Anika Nilles, and planned a Rush tour in 2026. I wasn't aware they were playing at the Junos, but they sound pretty good together to me. My brother, of course, already has tickets to one of the dates on that tour.

It must be somewhat incredible to be onstage, playing as part of a group that was putting out big albums a decade or more before you were born.

The 2 Heavy Metal bands Geddy Lee said he likes

It is well known that Rush’s bassist, singer and keyboardist Geddy Lee is a huge fan of Progressive Rock, the subgenre that inspired his band the most. However, he has a broad musical taste and although he is not a big fan of Heavy Metal, he does like a few bands from the genre and […]

Geddy Lee: My Favourite Headache (2000)

I never got into this much when it first came out, for some reason, but I’ve grown to appreciate it more over time.
