Just noticed GCore (AS199524) promising "200+ Tbps total filtering capacity" on their DDoS protection service https://gcore.com/ddos-protection.

Landed there from https://gcore.com/blog/ddos-6tbps-attack (dated Oct 14, 2025). AISURU botnet in their case as well.

#Makai is no longer being served by #GCore #CDN. This was done because it's becoming too unstable (we're getting too many 504s from the CDN itself). I already know that it isn't particularly reliable due to the "connection was lost" dialog appearing too frequently (probably some faulty #WebSockets proxy implementation on their end), but I thought it will just be that. I also never got the supposed Philippines edge they have (I always get connected to either Hong Kong or Singapore which is around 20ms), but that's more of a me problem.

So yeah if you're a Makai user reading this post, you're directly connected to the VPS hosting this
#Misskey instance now. Apologies if this means higher latency for you, but I don't see any other way. BunnyCDN doesn't support WebSockets, GCore is unreliable, and I refuse to use Cloudflare.

@[email protected] lol just saw your reply now while browsing the Misskey tag in misskey.io

I think that has to do with the
#Gcore #CDN, it seems like its #WebSockets connection is not 100% reliable. I don't mind much though because it doesn't really disrupt functionality. Wish #Misskey had the option to just hide that message like #Sharkey does
We have now moved to #Gcore's #CDN. As you can see auto-updates now work again in #Makai while still being a blazing fast #Misskey, and it's all because of this move to a CDN that supports #WebSockets!

That does mean we are no longer in
#BunnyCDN, which is a shame because bnuuy and also they're a lot simpler to use and read their ToS..

If you still see something strange in the frontend let me know.

UGGHHHH FUCKING SHIT :komachi_mad: So that's why #Makai is broken af, #BunnyCDN doesn't support #WebSockets! OF COURSE IT'S NOT GONNA GIVE ME REAL-TIME UPDATES :komachi_mad: https://support.bunny.net/hc/en-us/articles/360020401331-Do-you-support-WebSockets #sysadminfail #CDN RN: Oh another known issue: timeline doesn't automatically update after posting (at least in Deck UI) :reisensweat: RE: #Makai's #Misskey frontend is now being served by #BunnyCDN! This should hopefully make this site a lot faster for you whereever you are. :reisen_overdrive: You may have to do a flush of your Misskey client at https://makai.chaotic.ninja/flush (it will log you out), or even a full clearing of all cookies and site data associated with `makai.chaotic.ninja`. I recommend doing so if you're noticing any weirdness with the avatars. Currently there's one known issue in this move to a #CDN: link previews don't work properly (but clicking on them should still bring you to the right URL). I'm investigating on how to get that fixed. (And before you ask, yes I've already made sure to comment-out the `X-Real-IP`, `X-Forwarded-For`, and `X-Forwarded-Proto` headers in the origin's #nginx config. That didn't even fix the avatars being displayed wrongly actually, I had to make an edge rule to force cache time for `*/proxy/*` to `0`.) :reisen_dance2: #sysadmin #announcement

Makai
So.. Anyone who uses #GCore's #CDN? Considering moving to it since it's apparently free (and seems to not be a trial like #BunnyCDN is), has #WebSockets support, and has two edges in the #Philippines (one in Manila and one in Davao). Sounds too good to be true tbh.
