This past weekend, my man and I visited an art fair that took over the middle of the #gayborhood, and got messy contributing to a community art project.

This what happens when an oppressive government destroys rainbows that were designed to be as respectable, non-threatening, non-confrontational, and inoffensive as possible to straight people: A “queersplosion” of #rainbow colored #graffiti that could show up anytime, anywhere. Got word from a ‘mo cruising the #gayborhood: The Theocracy of #Texas is tearing out all our rainbow crosswalks. When the state’s “safety” story was shown to be a lie (more complex crosswalk designs exist just blocks away in a hetero party district & at a homophobic private college) it fell back to calling them “political”. Really? Who politicized how we fuck to gain power? Fortunately, seeing it coming, many #OakLawn joints have started adding rainbows to their property.
