Got word from a ‘mo cruising the #gayborhood: The Theocracy of #Texas is tearing out all our rainbow crosswalks. When the state’s “safety” story was shown to be a lie (more complex crosswalk designs exist just blocks away in a hetero party district & at a homophobic private college) it fell back to calling them “political”. Really? Who politicized how we fuck to gain power? Fortunately, seeing it coming, many #OakLawn joints have started adding rainbows to their property.

Fear not. We’ve plenty of laundromats in the #gayborhood, and I can get a repair person in after the holiday. I learned to cook “pre-microwave”, plus one of our local homosexual drinking establishments is laying out a lavish #Thanksgiving meal for all the #Queer elders and holiday orphans. With everything else happening right now, this is nothing. Everything’s gonna be alright. I just have to laugh at the anti-Norman-Rockwell-absurdity of it all. 🦃

Legacy took care of #HIV / #AIDS patients back when there was no cure and nobody cared about the gays. They’re still helping homeless/unhoused HIV+ people get treatment and get back on their feet.

Responding to the governor’s order that the rainbow crosswalks be stripped from our #gayborhood, a church at the corner of two crosswalks covered its massive steps in rainbows. Now they’re gonna consecrate ‘em to make erasing them a blasphemy or something. This atheist plans to show up in his asbestos socks ‘cause in the Theocracy of #Texas sometimes you gotta fight fire with holy fire.
