Gásadalur liegt umgeben von Bergen auf Vágar und war aufgrund seiner abgeschiedenen Lage lange Zeit nur zu Fuß oder per Helikopter erreichbar. Erst seit dem Bau des Tunnels im Jahr 2004 ist das Dorf per Straße verbunden.
