🧄 In good news #fFomTheGarden - 2 of the Spanish Roja garlics are up! Also, about ⅓ of the Glenlarge. So tardy, this lot. Planted a week after the first half of the bed, they are 16 days behind them. The garlics in the first half of the bed are growing fast and beautifully.
🧄 Having said that, I saw a new Early Purple emerged today in the first half of the bed.
🧄 Garlics are funny. One moment they have not sprouted, the next they are 2cm or more tall! How does that happen? I need a camera for the garlic bed.
🍓 I picked the last or maybe the penultimate strawberry of the season this morning. Delicious, altho not as sweet as earlier ones. I am very happy with the small strawberry harvest, given the state of the bed after my string of illnesses and so little rain for ages.
🥬 The leafy salad greens are growing strong! Such a delight. So tiny still but I can see my winter salads in this bed.
🌿 The #fermenting plant juice is looking very good. So far, more juice than I expected, fermenting beautifully and no smell.
🌿 Weeds are everywhere #BeautyAmongstTheWeeds
🌶️ The chilli bush looks like it is in its last legs after 3 years of creating hundreds of chillies each season. I plan to cut the branches to remove the chillies (small, Thai-style chillies) and remove the bush, and add compost and mulch to that part of the bed.
🍊 I have some ripe cumquats!
