It has been bothering me for most of a year that the old garden pond got trapped in the cat aviary. Moving it would be a pity because the edge planting of Marsh-Marigold and Meadowsweet thrive too well and the cats love their large tasty water dish.
While the net prevent the cats from hurting birds, Damselflies, Dragonflies and Toads it also kept all of the wildlife from getting to the water.
So I bought a used pond liner, patched it up, and dug a new pond.
It turned out a little bigger than expected, I think it's about 1000 liters (264 gallon).
I still need to build a small solar-powered waterfall, dig out a shelf for a low water level swamp area, and hide the edge of the liner, but for now I have to wait and see if it holds water.
