A few years ago, I noticed a little bug on a dandelion in my garden and I spent some time capturing it with my DSLR.
It turned out to be the cutest little grasshopper nymph, and I was so happy with the pictures. Unfortunately, I never got around to share them anywhere. And now they’re stuck on a dead laptop (I know they can probably be retrieved. I just haven’t gotten around to figuring it out yet).
But since I’ve regained the joy of macro photography this year, I have taken many very close looks at the dandelions this season. And I have found - and captured - many small critters - but no baby grashoppers.
Until today, that is. I finally found one!! Not in a dandelion, but a Welsh poppy. So once again, I have spent the day shooting what may be the cutest bug in my garden. Those pictures are still in the camera and need to go through my selection and editing process. So basically, I don’t even know if the pictures are any good.
This one is shot with my iPhone after packing the DSLR away. I noticed a weevil had joined the grashopper, I had to capture the moment. And that meant I had something to share right away.
