#GamesOnWhales is by far the coolest thing i've set up in 2025. I have an #AMD #Radeon RX 9060 XT, 48GB of ram and a #Ryzen 5 in there. Being able to build custom desktops using #Docker and use them without any latency is AWESOME! Now i can play games on my #thinkpad, spin up various different desktops for any usecase, or use my #kalilinux desktop from whatever device i want to. I can even play #Cyberpunk on my #AndroidTV. I have no words to describe how much i love this 😁

@dos I play around with #GamesOnWhales and #Lutris to dockerize my old Windows games (without steam). It works really nice and allows me to have them on my PC wit good GPU in my cellar and Play it on any device with Internet I wish.

I actually had a bit of an adventure getting it to run in the first place. The debian repo's version is quite old, and I'm allergic to flatpaks, So that left building it from source. For a long time couldn't get it's build system to find any of my libraries. I looked at their CI configuration for hints about how theyre building it and it turned out that where I was going wrong was trying to use the Makefiles cmake generator. If you try and build Luanti with cmake directly, it builds with no issues.

Anyway, a hop skip and a jump later and ive got the client and server working in docker now, so I can reproduce the build and stream the game to any device using Wolf (https://games-on-whales.github.io/wolf/stable/) And Wolf is great because it means I can develop the mod in the container and access it from anywhere.

Fun times indeed!
