OFC there are basically 4 options:
It's so old code there was only this language that could do it (i.e. #FORTRAN, #COBOL)
The machine it was written for was so primitive we could have only use this (i.e. #Assembly, #BASIC)
Shit needs to perform well and we kinda need to be able to port it and maintain it as well as audit it (i.e. #C, #Java)
We're a trendy hipster startup and have 0 legacy code to give a fuck about (i.e. #Rust, #JavaScript and the gazillionth #framework for #JS like "neolibre-clusterfuckπ2-npmx.js" which has more build dependencies and code than OS/1337 just to draw a fucking mouse cursor with changing RGB colours for a a "#GamerAesthetic mode" to appeal to #Zoomer kiddies!) So shit doesn't have to survive longer than going public and the original devs cashout their stock options and retire...
