I just received my pre-ordered GameSir “Pocket Taco” this morning and found the setup to be non-trivial for pairing with an iPhone and configuring the controller with the @delta_emulator Here’s the exact steps to setup and start playing with this new controller:

Being able to extend wide enough to fit on full-sized tablets is a neat party trick, but the #GameSir G8+ really shines when paired with the #Switch.
It’s significantly heavier than the Abxylute S8 and S9 that I’ve been using with it, which I would think is a bad thing, but I’m finding that added heft makes for a more cohesive experience. With the Abxylute S8, you can tell that the controller is lighter than the Switch tablet, but with the GameSir G8+ that feeling doesn’t exist.
On top of that, the face buttons can be moved around to be in the Nintendo layout, and it has plus and minus buttons! I’ve gotten good at adjusting the face button layout in my mind when switching platforms but it’s a nicety for sure.
Also, the G8+ is the only one of the three that has rumble when playing Switch games. And it feels like quality rumble too!
I’m going to try it out for a while before I decide to keep it and commit to paying $80 USD.
I received the #GameSir G8+ late last night. It works well with the iPad but I don’t know how often I would choose to play like this.
My Razer Edge with the Abxylute S8 controller felt so small and light after playing on the iPad, which was nice, but I did miss the large screen.
I also tried my #iPad Mini 6 with the Razer Kishi Ultra and that is a great middle ground. If only there was an iPad Mini with an OLED display.
There is a tablet called the Red Magic Astra that is basically the same size as the iPad Mini with a high refresh OLED display, but it’s very expensive and I don’t really feel comfortable spending a bunch of money on a device from a less reputable brand.
Since my last post, I have gotten back to playing #FinalFantasyVIIRebirth. Still making my way through all the mini-games at the Gold Saucer.
I also played just enough #Persona3Portable to jumpstart my playthrough. I realized exams were coming up and managed to get my academics up just in time, which was exciting.
On another note, I’ve been thinking about getting a new tablet for my 40th birthday which is coming up in June. I’m currently trying to decide if I would want the #GalaxyTab S9 or S9+. Both have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and an OLED display, which sounds lovely. The price difference is negligible for renewed models on Amazon right now despite the fact that the S9+ has more storage and more RAM, which would be nice to have for playing Steam games via #GameNative.
To help me with the decision I ordered the #GameSir G8 Plus telescopic controller to be delivered today, which I’m going to try out on an 8th Gen iPad I have lying around to see how handheld gaming on a tablet the size of the S9 would be.

Oh good, another promise to unlock your entire Steam library on a Mac—coming soon. Hong Kong-based GameSir says its GameHub (ported from Android) will run Windows games and even add proprietary AI frame interpolation, but the Android track record was hit-or-miss (and once had invasive tracking, later removed). Proceed with paws-on skepticism 😼

An anonymous reader quotes a report from Ars Technica: For a while now, Mac owners have been able to use tools like CrossOver and Game Porting Toolkit to get many Windows games running on their operating system of choice. Now, GameSir plans to add its own potential solution to the mix, announcing th...
