Something that might take some people back: Hugo, with an actual phone as an interface.

Hugo was a game show (originally Danish) in which people called in to play this game with the little troll via their phone keys.

From what I remember basically everybody failed because the delay between game and phone was atrocious. And yet it was running for years in 40 different countries.

AND you get the added bonus of Rob Lowe who, as much as I hate men that are prettier than I am, is delightful, charming, and very winning as the host. And his West Wing jokes NEVER get old.
