FYI, if anyone's considering getting one of the GameCube NSO controllers for use with Phantasy Star Online... or other games I guess... it's probably a bad idea ATM. The controller has some pure-strain Nintendo proprietary jank going on and you either need Steam or this script and associated udev rule to get it to even work as a controller on Linux, and even then the button mapping and analog sensitivity are wacky. (I couldn't get a movement on the analog stick to register as a full push, so I was stuck walking.)
There's a Linux kernel driver patch floating around to sort all this out I've seen, but acceptance/when it downstream to your distribution are still up in the air.

F-Zero GX still remains the best futuristic racer to this day. Nothing else comes close, not even Wipeout. I’ll die on this hill.
