The image depicts a lavish spread of food set against the warm glow of what appears to be an indoor fire.
In the foreground, there are multiple glasses filled with champagne or sparkling wine.
A pheasant is elegantly posed on top of a cake, suggesting it may have been part of a traditional game-based meal often associated with festive occasions.
An assortment of finger foods like smoked salmon and vegetable crudites can be seen to one side, while the middle ground features more gourmet items such as oysters served with lemon wedges in an ornate silver dish.

Two more #grouse for the pot! Got these two together towards the end of the day at the third location I tried after hiking through two other locations (and raiding a wild apple tree 😛). I'm now at three shots fired and three #gamebirds taken this season. Saw some #partridge on the way home, too, but they were on private property.

I just did a braised partridge Egyptian style!

The recipe calls for squab (with giblets) and hakeem or bulgur, but I substituted partridge for the squab and a wild rice/chestnut mixture for the bulgur. The partridge didn't come with giblets, unfortunately.

It's resting now for a few minutes before I dig in. The pan sauce from the braise is heavenly.
