Short, charming, cozy, but surprisingly challenging journey through RPG history | Evoland
What an absolutely charming way to relive the history of the games we grew up with. I think maybe even younger gamers who don't quite have the nostalgia factor to speak to would still find this game compelling and worth playing. It's short, tightly designed with a perfectly paced progression curve, and only slight grindy if you're interested in 100% completion clear. The boss fights are surprisingly challenging, and satisfying to beat. Not frustrating, but just difficult enough to give you a sense of accomplishment when you beat them. The controls are a little restrictive, and since it's an older game I couldn't use my controller (a known bug), but that's really the only minor complaint I have. Oh! The soundtrack is fantastic. It's a perfect homage to (mostly) Final Fantasy music, and each part of the soundtrack reflects the "era" of the section of game you're in appropriately.

Valkyrie SystemForgot that we made this for over a year 😅 We’ve been working on clearing out our game backlog and working on our poetry compilation “Eternity In the Palms of Our Hands” (all of the poems we’ve written over the last 12 years) which we will post more of soon! We plan to publish it when it’s completed (roughly 30% done as it’s mostly revisions and updated versions of poems from a perspective of higher understanding of what we went through.
The Seven Voyages Of SteveI’ve had Phoenix Point in my library for 3 years and I’ve finally started it up. I did play through a mission at Rezzed in 2018 as well, but it took me a while to get back to it #gamebacklog
