When I was doing #art at university around the year 2000 there was a common notion in #ContemporaryArt that #painting was dead.

There was a general boredom towards painting because it was so popular and one of the first ways artists express themselves. It was generally seen as something as a creative dead end - there was nothing new about it.

But Ive noticed with #galleries and #museums working to #decolonise many of the black artists they now show use painting as a medium.
