Ta-da! We now have a working Galaga! Securing the leg on the ROM appears to have been the issue! This fix should hold for a while, but we will need a replacement chip eventually. #GalagaRestoration

Ah-ha. Here we have a prime suspect for our display issue. This ROM has a very loose leg. It also looks like it's been repaired before. Reading up, this chip appears to generate the starfield on the screen. Fixing boards is a lot like debugging JavaScript, except, ya know, it is physical instead of virtual. Ultimately I will require a new chip here but for now, I will try to secure the leg with a little solder and finish cleaning the other chips. Wish me luck! #GalagaRestoration

Okay, the #GalagaRestoration begins. The game display is out of sorts, so let's fix that. I don't think this is a monitor issue and the proper voltages are present all around, so lets pull the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and have a closer look. The PCB is the component the game exists on. What we will do here is inspect all of the ROMs and reseat them to ensure a proper connection. Each ROM will need to be removed carefully and cleaned. I use Tarn-X, which works great.

Travel 100 miles to get Galaga and no problems with it. I move it 10 feet and this. Think it's a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) issue. Pretty sure it's not the monitor, which is great. Original monitors are very expensive and difficult to come by. #GalagaRestoration
