In Ivalice, a good amount of the technology comes from moogles, which requires maintenance by moogles. So when a human volunteers to help maintain moogle tech, they can find themselves more kupo then usual as they handle more delicate equipment...

I still find it funny that Ivalice moogles became my favorite type of moogle, didn't like 'em much when I first saw them when I first played FFXII but boyyy did I come around.
