Olipahan keikka, Godspeed You Black Emperor Tampereella. Etukäteen vähän jännitti miten hyvin sitä enää jaksaa kuunnella rokkia sunnuntai-iltana ennen työpäivää, mutta onneksi tuli lähdettyä.

Jotenkin bändin tapa yhdistää keikoillaan musiikki kaitafilmiprojektoreilla tuotettuun visuaaliseen taustaan tuottaa keikalle voimakkaan tunnelman ja oman todellisuutensa. Siinä unohtuu kipeät jalat, valvotut yöt ja työkiireet. Tilalle tulee oman tulkintani mukaan ajatus ihmisten yhteydestä ja sen tärkeydestä rikkinäisessä maailmassa.

Saa nähdä pyöriikö tämä mielessä yhtä pitkään kuin edellinen bändiltä näkemäni keikka Kulttuuritalolla vuonna 2011.

I recently discovered this matrix mix of a Godspeed You! Black Emperor concert from 2002. I've loved this concert since I first heard one of the sources used for this mix about 15 years ago, and this new mix (well, new as of last year) is a pleasant improvement over what was available before. Especially a fan of "Dead Methany" and "World Police and Friendly Fire" from this.
