Congress revoked an additional $20B from the IRS last week when lawmakers averted a govt shutdown, a cut that may undo many of Pres Biden’s efforts to improve customer service at the tax agency/train fresh scrutiny on wealthy tax cheats.

Biden & congress. Dems gave the IRS $80B in the 2022 IRA, but Congress rescinded $20B as part of a 2023 budget deal.

$40M will harm IRS efforts, but not entirely. If Dems win in 2026, they can add more IRS funding.
