In 2019, Speaker McCarthy voted for raising the debt limit under then President Trump. 4 years later, Speaker McCarthy is threatening to topple our nation by refusing to negotiate in good faith an increase to the debt ceiling. Estimates indicate stocks and 401ks could drop by up to 40%, up to 8 million jobs lost, severe cuts to social security, medicare, and other critical programs and a national security threat as cuts are made to veterans and other programs.
