Kijk, Jetten, dit is een zo veel betere aanpak. Hou VVD er buiten of in de tang! 🧐
Now that all parties have met with mediator Hendrik Jan Biemond for a coffee, they have put their goals for an ideal coalition in writing. Zita Pels and Sofyan Mbarki, writing on behalf of GroenLinks-PvdA, stated they want three options examined: a continuation with D66 (25 seats), a variant with the VVD and Partij voor de Dieren (26 seats), and a broader left-wing combination with Partij voor de Dieren, Volt, and either Denk, Bij1, or SP (23 or 24 seats).
👉What is most striking is what is missing from that list: a coalition with only the VVD – which would hold the minimum majority of 23 seats – is not mentioned, nor is a broad combination of GroenLinks-PvdA, D66 and the VVD together, which would command a staggering 31 seats. GroenLinks-PvdA is therefore not abandoning the VVD, but only considers them an option if an additional left-wing party is included to balance them.👈

GroenLinks-PvdA sees multiple coalition options in Amsterdam, but doesn’t mention combination with D66 and VVD
In a letter to scout Hendrik Jan Biemond, Amsterdam’s political parties have laid their cards on the table for the first time since the elections. GroenLinks-PvdA sees several coalition options but has excluded a combination featuring both D66 and the VVD. Meanwhile, the VVD, Partij voor de Dieren and Volt are standing by, ready to govern.
