"the street finds its own uses" vs "the master's tools will never dismantle the master's house"

A proper duel between William #Gibson's gutter pragmatism vs Audre #Lorde's moral geometry. The street vs the house. Improvisation vs prohibition.

Gibson's line is a quiet act of vandalism against intention. It says tools do not remain loyal. They slip, mutate, get repurposed by hands that were never invited to the design meeting.

I'm looking forward to the third of his current trilogy, the #Peripheral --> #Jackpot

Or perhaps I'm looking around at it.

if you think about it, the best defence against Gibson’s cyberpunk maxim, “the street finds its own uses for things” created by corporatism was always for corporations to churn out as many and as much useless things as possible using all the resources that could be used for dangerously useful things.

Aber zu Glück gibt es noch die hier!
