WorldPop visited the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), meeting with the Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL), Demography, and Urban & Territorial Analysis teams.
We explored opportunities to improve comparability, reduce duplication, and strengthen harmonised global population and settlement data.

The definition of Europe is a bit fuzzy but is approximately bounded by the Ural mountains to the East
