🎓 GeoTech Cohort Sharing

More highlights from the GFP Annual Conference 2025 in Budapest! 🇭🇺🌊

Our GeoTech student Ayesha Tariq joined workshops on improving flood forecasts, risk mapping in data-scarce regions, and integrating Earth Observation with local knowledge for resilience planning.

The conference concluded with a visit to the Kvassay Dam, emphasizing the importance of connecting early warnings with community action.

🎓 GeoTech Cohort Sharing

Proud of Ayesha Tariq, our GeoTech Master’s student, for representing our cohort at the Global Flood Partnership (GFP) 2025 Conference in Budapest! 🌍💧

Ayesha presented her work on AI-driven multi-sensor flood detection using Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 imagery, a great fit for this year’s theme on future flood resilience.

The conference also highlighted updates to GloFAS, LISFLOOD, and new global rainfall datasets. 💡🤝

🎓 GeoTech Cohort Sharing

Proud of Francisco Lozada, our GeoTech Master’s student, for representing our cohort at the Global Flood Partnership (GFP) 2025 Conference in Budapest! 🌍🌊

As part of his MSc thesis on flood detection, Francisco realized the global research landscape is far broader than he expected. Being part of a community working toward the same goal broadened his vision, and he hopes his work can contribute meaningfully. 💡🤝
