Swansea man who ‘made victim’s life a misery’ jailed
The offence of controlling and coercive behaviour took place over a number of years, including stopping the victim from sleeping and eating.
He appeared before Cardiff Crown Court on Friday, October 24, where he was sentenced to a total of five years in prison. He is also subject to a restraining order lasting 15 years.
Sergeant Draisey said:
“Callum Randall made the victim’s life an absolute misery with his long-running campaign of unacceptable behaviour.
“Nobody should have to experience this type of abuse, and I hope that the victim can now move forward with her life.”
“We never underestimate how difficult it is for survivors of domestic violence to speak out and report. Domestic violence can affect anyone regardless of ethnicity, age, gender, sexuality or social background.
“If you are suffering from physical, sexual, psychological, or financial abuse, or are being threatened, intimidated or stalked by a current or previous partner or close family member, it’s likely you’re a victim of domestic abuse. You’re not to blame for what’s happening. You’re not alone.”
You can report domestic abuse by reporting online, calling 101, or if a crime is happening now or someone is in immediate danger, call 999. You can make a report to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
