🔥 We live in an age of overwhelm. Social media, geopolitical chaos, the dizzying pace of an AI revolution that was supposed to make our lives easier and is instead being used to complicate, confuse and even end them. It is a lot. Is it just my impression or has it indeed become harder to sell novels that center trauma? I have only anecdotal evidence, so I wonder what others think about this.

My query went through three sessions of the #Futurescapes workshop, QueryShark, and several other agents. I even disclose my personal trauma, for authenticity. My confidence in my pages has been confirmed by others many times.

But I only ever get form rejections, even from the agents that helped me with the query.
