This old draft horse furrower probably did not expect to get used again in its life. It was saved from the scrap metal pile in the yard.
It worked pretty well. It's actually not looking that old but relatively modern as far as draft horse implements go. It has pins to set the depth and the flukes are articulated for variable width furrows.
Apart from that, it works pretty much like a plow anchor for a boat, only the idea here is that it should drag, where on the boat that's quite the opposite (but they drag anyways, so you're better off with a scoop anchor).
