Here is a repair we completed recently. This chair sits in the lobby of a local restaurant. A child grasped onto a tear in the leather and tore a chunk out of arm. The chunk of leather vanished. (Perhaps a parent hiding evidence?) We had to create our own patch, fill around the edges of the tear and do our best to colour match the rest of the arm to help the hole disappear.
The customer said, "I can't even see where the damage was."
That is precisely the point.

Ok, I’ve ordered 2lbs of unlaced Danish Papercord to start. 🫣🫣🫣 Right now I’m more anxious than excited, but we will see as I get into it. I did just notice, though, that the corners use a different material. It almost looks flatter and wider. 🤔Not sure what that is, exactly. Or if I can use the same material for the seat there instead…

Does anyone here do #SeatWeaving? I've got 6 old Ikea chairs like these, and the Danish paper cord on them is starting to fray. I LOVE them and they are discontinued. Trying to figure out if it's folly for a beginner to attempt to cut off and reweave. The curve looks daunting and I'm not sure which way to start warping (front to back versus left to right).
