Die Idee, dass man seine Bibliothek mit jemandem teilen kann, ohne dass beide Personen die Dateien jeweils einmal abgespeichert haben müssen, finde ich verdammt cool!

Zwar habe ich noch niemanden gefunden, der das auch machen möchte, aber ich halte mich bereit 🤭

Ein Ding, das mich stört, wäre: Nachträglich Lyrics hinzufügen. Das ist so ein unfassbarer Aufwand. Die Lyrics muss man als Tag den Dateien selber anfügen. Entweder mountet man seinen Server, sucht irgendwo in dieser Hash Ordner Struktur die richtige Datei (welche auch umbenannt wurde, das wäre ja sonst zu einfach), fügt den Lyrics hinzu und hofft einfach mal, dass Funkwhale die Veränderung einfach akzeptiert. Oder man löscht die Datei, löscht bei anderen Tag Veränderungen noch die Datenbank Einträge, und lädt die Datei erneut hoch.

Ein einfaches Feld, oder einen Online Tag Editor innerhalb Funkwhales, wäre der absolute Hammer. Sollte auch nicht unmachbar sein, da Funkwhale auf Django, also Python basiert.

Es wäre auch super, wenn Funkwhale mehrere Interpreten erkennen würde. Künstler die mitgewirkt haben muss man in den Titel Namen packen, da Funkwhale den Artist Tag wörtlich nimmt. 'Künstler 1 feat. Sängerin XY' ist dann ein neuer Interpret. Die Datenbank Struktur ist auch gar nicht darauf ausgelegt mehrere Interpreten einem Lied hinzuzufügen zu können. Sehr Schade.

Nachdem ich jetzt relativ gut #Funkwhale benutzt habe, kann ich sagen, dass es unfassbar solide und zuverlässig funktioniert.

Doch es fehlen einige Quality of Life Features. Manchmal muss man 15 Schritte durchgehen, für eine Kleinigkeit. Und das jedes mal, wenn man diese Kleinigkeiten machen möchte. Es könnte auch ein einfaches WebUI sein. Das ist super nervig.

... irgendwie sehe ich @morethanevil im Hintergrund rumschimpfen, dass #Jellyfin sowieso besser ist 😂

I'm more than half-way through moving all my music from YT Music to my own Funkwhale instance: the classical music is taking longer, because I want to make sure I connect the correct artist/album to the correct MusicBrainz record.

As these are my own copies, I cannot open up my instance to federation, so sharing music will be more difficult than through YT Music, but at least no one will benefit from the clicks/engagement

Question for other classifical music lovers: where do you buy your digital versions of (new/old) classical music albums?
