@WTL before today I've fueled with jelly fruit bars and carbs+electrolytes powder to dissolve in water.
Those options have the advantage of less weight and volume to carry, but the sweetness is too much for me.
Real food tastes better imho.
Since I am a slow runner, I don't care much about my pace. And then there's the money to consider. I could even get rid of electrolytes by adding a bit more salt to the potatoes.
@robchapman Personally I would go with rehydrated grounded dates, squeezed oranges, pears and a bit of salt.
I am just not entirely pleased by the throwable plastic container. I need to find reusable flasks with a big enough opening. When my kids were babies I had two of those to store mixed fruits. I need to buy them again.
