Kimmel's return to the air demonstrates that we the people still hold a lot of power, despite our wannabe autocrat's tantrums. No, the network doesn't give a crap about democracy or freedom of speech. But we do, and our money talks.

The dust has not even settled from the announcement that ICE will be receiving more funding than the entire US prison system, and that a new concentration camp is opening in Florida, and already Trump is announcing he will deport US citizens.
@galad @GottaLaff Everything he's doing is straight out of the fascist Standard Operating Procedures. He's looking for a common enemy that we'll unite against and unwittingly give him unlimited power to fight against on our behalf. If he can't find such an enemy, he's willing to create one and pick a fight, even if it's a losing one, just so he can take the reins of this country without anyone holding him back. The fascist pig will do anything for power.
Tweets from 2011-2013 that Trump made, highlighting that he was already thinking of starting a war with Iran as a strategy to gain political support. He was saying Obama would do it, but it was Trump who was thinking this way, mentally treating war as just another machination to gain political support, casualties be damned. He had the fascist mentality even back then.
To "protect" us from this dangerous enemy, he needs us to give him more and more control, removing more and more checks and constraints. If he can't get the control he wants fighting this enemy, he will create a new one. This will not stop until he really is supreme leader, the unquestionable dictator with the divine right of kings.
