Somehow I missed this when the story broke a few weeks ago: Atomwaffen Division co-founder Brandon Russell has been given a 20-year prison sentence for plotting to attack the Baltimore power grid with his girlfriend (h/t @MusiqueNow). He had been found guilty back in February, but sentencing was only earlier this month.
They picked Baltimore in part because the girlfriend, Sarah Beth Clendaniel, also a neo-nazi, was from the area, but mostly because it's a city with a large Black population. Clendaniel recently got an 18-year sentence for her part in the plot.

The founder of a Florida-based neo-Nazi group has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for conspiring with his girlfriend to plan an attack on Maryland’s power grid in furtherance of their shared racist beliefs. Brandon Russell was convicted by a jury earlier this year in federal court in Baltimore. U.S. District Judge James Bredar imposed the maximum sentence allowed following a sentencing hearing Thursday. Russell's co-defendant, Sarah Beth Clendaniel, was previously sentenced to 18 years after pleading guilty to her role in the plot.

A state judge in Texas Wednesday ordered Infowars' assets to be turned over to a newly-appointed state receiver, who will sell them to pay the families of the Connecticut children killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. They won a $1.3 billion defamation case against Jones after he spread bogus [conspiracy theories] that the shooting never happened and the grieving families were actors. His listeners harassed the families for years.
The move paves the way for the receiver — or sheriffs — to start the process of seizing cash and property owned by Infowars and its parent company, Free Speech Systems, within days. The families, who've spent some three years in federal bankruptcy court trying to collect what Jones owes them, could start seeing their first payouts through the state court in weeks or months.
