Today's marathon is The Hobbit movies. Taking more than one movie for a single novel is a good idea. Most feature film adaptations have to cut so much to fit the time allotted.

It's a shame that Jackson took all that extra time and inserted his own fan fic, but the visuals and acting are close enough to the Lord Of The Rings movies that I still enjoy them.
