@Flachländer Eine offizielle Friendica-App namens "Friendica" gibt es nicht, sondern allerhöchstens Drittanbieter-Apps.

Du mußt bedenken: Friendica ist nicht aus den 2020ern, sondern von 2010, über fünfeinhalb Jahre älter sogar noch als Mastodon. Damals galten Smartphone-Apps für Webdienste noch nicht wie heute als lebensnotwendig, sondern als Gimmicks. Auf eine Art ist das bis heute Teil der uralten Friendica-Kultur.

Außerdem ist Friendica so ein Featuremonster, daß es schwierig ist, es so in eine dedizierte Mobil-App zu gießen, daß der Anwender in keinem denkbaren Friendica-Anwendungsfall jemals die Weboberfläche brauchen wird. Eine App, die wirklich alle Features von Friendica abdeckt außer denjenigen, die die Weboberfläche direkt betreffen, wäre ihrerseits monströs.

Versucht wird es trotzdem. Für Android gibt's RaccoonForFriendica. Meines Wissens ist das die einzige wirklich auf Friendica ausgelegte App, die im Google Play Store erhältlich ist. Außerdem gibt's Relatica, die ist aber noch (sehr!) unfertig und meines Wissens nur als Testversion und APK-Download erhältlich.

Im Apple App Store fürs iPhone oder iPad gibt's überhaupt keine dedizierten Friendica-Apps. Wenn du ein iPhone hast und unbedingt eine dedizierte App mit nativer iOS-Oberfläche brauchst, dann hast du keine andere Wahl, als dir den Aufwand mit TestPilot und persönlichem Kontakt zu den Entwicklern anzutun, um an eine möglicherweise unzuverlässige Testversion zu kommen.

Fedilab, auch wieder nur für Android erhältlich, ist mal einigermaßen an Friendica angepaßt worden. Aber Fedilab nutzt die Mastodon Client API, deckt also bei weitem nicht alle Features von Friendica ab.

Ein paar Mastodon-Apps für Android sollen wohl auch funktionieren. Aber da hast du erst recht nur die vielleicht 20% der Friendica-Features, die Mastodon auch hat. Und etliche andere Bedienelemente, die mastodonspezifische Features steuern, sind auf Friendica funktionslos.

Am besten geht es, wie @Steffen 🦉🇪🇺 beschrieben hat: Du nutzt Friendica erstmal im Browser. Da sollte dir dann angeboten werden, Friendica (genauer gesagt, deinen Node) als sogenannte Progressive Web App zu installieren. Dann hast du zwar auch die Weboberfläche und keine schicke native iOS- oder Android-Mobiloberfläche, aber du hast garantiert immer alle Features zur Hand, sogar noch nach Friendica-Updates, ohne von irgendwelchen App-Entwicklern abhängig zu sein.

@HistoPol (#HP) 🏴 🇺🇸  🏴 Truth be told, what we could need is a feature comparison between the various mobile apps and Friendica's Web frontend to see what covers what.

I'm not quite sure if any Friendica app actually covers exactly 100% of Friendica's functionality. What they should cover is what's needed for daily driving. But I'm not sure if all of them cover, for example, all features of the built-in file manager and every last one of Friendica's own optional add-ons.

An actually, absoutely fully-featured Friendica app would be voluminous. Not as huge as a (streams) app and not as massive as a Hubzilla app, but big.

In the cases of some features, I'm not even sure how much sense they make in a mobile app. Would a mobile app need all configuration controls for the Web interface? And does it make sense for an iPhone app to brandish the full set of Friendica admin controls if it detects the logged-in account to be an admin account?

Besides, in spite of its old age, Friendica is constantly changing and sometimes introducing new features. Third-party apps will have to keep up with core and add-on development.

And once the now-growing Friendica community has settled in and attracted a few devs, and they discover that Friendica is so modular that it can attach third-party add-ons server-side, and they start developing third-party add-ons, mobile apps won't cover 100% of Friendica anymore anyway.

There's only one way to get a dedicated, native Friendica app onto an iPhone. The app is Relatica, it's very unfinished, and in order to install it, it requires TestFlight and a GitLab account to get into contact with one of the devs because their own Friendica node seems to be dead.
