Today my #FridayAfternoonTea advent calendar gave me Winter Huntress, a tea I've been excited to try ever since it was released and which is constantly sold out. Silver needle white tea, wintergreen, spearmint, peppermint and edible silver glitter pay hommage to the Goddess Skadi in an amazing caffeine boost that I find absolutely fascinating. Sharp and slightly bitter mint notes fade into a crisp yet sweet aftertaste, like breathing in deeply in the middle of a winter forest. @tea

Today's tea is Gingerbread House, an exclusive blend from the #FridayAfternoonTea advent calendar. It contains fig, molasses, ginger, allspice, cinnamon, star anise and vanilla. I must admit I was sceptical at first because you don't really see most of the spices when you brew a cup. But the final result has a soft golden tone and tastes surprisingly subtle, with some sharp sting underneath. Definitely a very nice Christmas blend. @tea

Today's Tea is Big Red Dog from the #FridayAfternoonTea advent calendar. The heavy rooibos blend contains orange peel, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, natural vanilla flavoring and bergamotte oil. Hot damn, it's A LOT - in the sense that strolling over a crowded christmas market is a lot. You don't even know which smells and flavors to concentrate on. This is a blend to enjoy with friends, it asks for easy conversation and community. I may revisit it with a dash of milk next time. @tea

Sooo 2023 has been the strangest year. I had a big sad break-up. I had a coming out. I met someone. I did a lot of cool stuff. AND IT ALL HAPPENED SIMULTANEOUSLY.

That's why I decided I deserve a special treat this december and bought not one but TWO tea advent calendars - one from each of my favorite tea shops. Watch this account for an excessive amount of tea posts during the next weeks.

First #FridayAfternoonTea advent calendar tea is a peppermint stick black tea.

I think a lot of blended/flavored teas don’t do caramel well, but Friday’s caramel teas (especially Draw Me A Sheep, caramel oolong) always delight me.

Will definitely be re-steeping this one over the course of today’s chilly rainy day with snow on the nearby hilltops for yummy pick-me-ups. #tea #TeaWitch

Today's tea is Goji-Mum Green from the #FridayAfternoonTea spring collection BECAUSE IT'S ALMOST FALL AND I'M WAY BEHIND! Green tea, goji berry, chrysanthemum flowers and a soft hue of jasmine essence make an amazing blend I've clearly slept on for too long. Today's tea ist Rocketman from the #FridayAfternoonTea Queer Rock Gods collection. Oolong tea, cacao nib, persimmon, ginger root and gold lustre dust are gonna rock my day. I love how sweet and spicy this comes along while also keeping it light and playful, with a heavy aftertaste of ripe summer fruits. Edible glitter makes each pot a party. Easily one of my favorites (though I probably say that about all oolongs blends, tbh). @tea

I got caught in the rain on my way home, so I brewed a cup of Tree-Herder before bed. This herbal forest fantasy from the #FridayAfternoonTea Lord of the Rings collection is made from juniper berry, roasted green tea stems, western red cedar tips, wild cherry bark, Old Man's Beard lichen, ginkgo biloba and raspberry leaf. It tastes the way trees smell at nightfall after a hot summer day, all sappy and resinous. A strange and wonderful tea! @tea
