Ich hab bisher nicht sehr viel über das Leben von Frida Kahlo gewusst, aber diese Biographie, erzählt als Graphic Novel, in der Bücherei zufällig gesehen und mitgenommen, weil mir die Zeichnungen gefallen haben. Ihr Leben ist interessant erzählt und es ist sehr kurzweilig.

Smithsonian Magazine: Can Frida Kahlo Leave Mexico? Plans to Relocate a Trove of Paintings by the Famous Artist Spark a Heated Debate. “More than 70 years after her death in 1954, Frida Kahlo remains one of Mexico’s most iconic cultural figures. Now, the art world is embroiled in controversy over plans to remove Kahlo pieces from her home country and display them overseas in Spain.”

This unique, asymmetrical pair of hand and garnet drop earrings were inspired by milagros and the adornments of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. A delicate, ghostly pewter hand is paired with a faceted garnet drop. They hang from sterling silver ear wires hand-forged in my "little cobra" shape, which works with regular pierced ears as well as gauged piercings.
