Inside tents, families break their fast and eat suhoor under the light of a phone flashlight.
No electricity.

Many families wait for a single meal to ease their hunger.
This is not a staged scene.

Our little daughter Layan (3 years old) underwent surgery last Thursday.
She suffered from pain and wounds after the operation, but thankfully she has recovered and received her treatment.
She now needs rest, continued care, and healthy food to regain her strength.

I am a university graduate and an English teacher, and despite everything, I still dream of continuing my higher education. Motherhood here is resilience and endless love. Hello everyone,

I am Toleen, 6 years old, from Gaza. I am speaking to you on behalf of my beautiful family (my father, mother, my brother Walid, and my sister Layan).

Our sad story that we are still living through war for one year . We were forced to leave our home, which holds the most beautiful memories, and we went to more than 7 places searching for safety and a normal life that any child in the world lives, and we still suffer every day from the lack of suitable housing and the lack of clean water. For drinking, lack of treatment, milk and healthy food.

My father lost his only source of income, as the occupation destroyed his workplace, and my mother was prevented from completing her master’s studies at the university.

I miss my school, which I only spent one month in it , then this war came. I miss my playroom and my favorite hobby, drawing, and I miss my comfortable bed.

My brother Walid, whom I love very much, suffered from a disability due to his premature birth. My parents put in a lot of effort to treat him over the course of 3 years in physical therapy sessions until he was able to improve, but because of the war his condition deteriorated and we are currently collecting donations to buy the appropriate medical devices for him and to complete his treatment until he can stand, walk and play like any child in the world.
