Patrice Lumumba's death is another open wound of our people simply for the sheer brutality of his kidnapping and murder. He was killed like the worst of criminals, as if he had committed some unnameable horror and the only way to appease his victims was to eviscerate his body and image down to mere particles. Words cannot express just how absolutely gruesome his assassination was and how till this day, it jolts anyone who reads of it.

Patrice didn't know just how colossal his enemies were. He didn't even contemplate all those who were his enemies at the time. He feared above all the Belgians and believing the U.S. stood for democracy he traveled to meet with president Eisenhower, who had his people lie to him and say he couldn't meet with him. It was later revealed he was simply playing golf while orchestrating through the CIA the deposition and consequent killing of Lumumba. The colonizers deserve nor forgiveness nor absolvement from their horrors.
