Unfortunately, Ashraf Omar's detention order has been extended by the State Security Prosecution for another 15 days. His lawyer reports that he was beaten during his arrest and threatened with electrocution.
Ashraf is a political cartoonist and translator with many hobbies and interests. He is also a friend and we worked together in 2009. To accuse him of terrorism is ridiculous.
