"Weird Donald" Trump probably hates the prisoner exchange with Russia.
One interpretation is that it shows everybody that his chumminess with Putin is not required for the US to negotiate with Russia.
Putin himself may be hedging his bets regarding the November US election. Maybe he saw Trump's disastrous appearance at the NABJ on Wednesday.

Here's a good, detailed review of Brad Mehldau's latest, and an informed overview of the history of jazz covers of Beatles tunes. (I disagree with dismissing George Benson's "The Other Side of Abbey Road," by the way--I think it's brilliant, and it's worth it just for the earthy Freddie Hubbard solo on "Come Together".)
