Alla fine la cena c’è stata davvero. Nelle scorse settimane si era diffusa la voce di un incontro in un ristorante tra Francesco Totti e Gian Piero Gasperini, bandiera e allenatore della Roma, che però non ha mai trovato conferme. Nessun dubbio invece su quella di qualche giorno fa al ristorante “Rinaldi al Quirinale”, uno dei locali preferiti da Francesco Totti a Roma. Un modo per rifarlo sentire a casa anche all’interno dell’As Roma, che come ormai noto da diverse settimane e come dichiarato anche da Claudio Ranieri, sta lavorando al ritorno del capitano giallorosso in società.
A fare da mediatore e a organizzare la serata è stato Vincent Candela, amico di entrambi. Pesce pregiato e buon vino, ma anche tanto calcio. “Serata tra amici… che bellezza parlare di calcio con Mister Gasperini e con Francesco”, ha scritto Candela nel suo post Instagram. Una conferma del fatto che non è stata solo una serata tra amici a ricordare vecchi momenti, ma anche un’occasione per programmare il futuro, come rivelato dal Corriere dello Sport. Perché la Roma sta vivendo un’ottima stagione dopo anni complicati, perché il centenario è imminente (2027) e perché si sta già programmando anche il nuovo stadio, ormai realtà per la Roma. E chi, se non Francesco Totti, può essere protagonista attivo e rappresentante della società in questa fase storica e di apparente svolta per la società giallorossa?
Ma si è parlato anche di calcio giocato, di rosa attuale della Roma, degli obiettivi stagionali, di quelli futuri. Perché l’idea di Gasperini è quella di affidare a Totti un ruolo operativo, oltre che d’immagine, ovviamente. D’altronde l’ex capitano giallorosso sa cosa serve a Roma e alla Roma per tornare a essere grandi. Si attende adesso qualche altro incontro tra Totti e i Friedkin e/o con Claudio Ranieri. La fumata bianca comunque non sembra lontana. In ambienti romani si parla di qualche settimana. Poi il ritorno del “Capitano” sarà realtà.
