killickI have a Hongdian 516s and it's been a reliable pen for years now. It's as plain a pen as you're likely to see-- a slim straight steel cylinder with a square-edged clip. The nib has nearly no flex. It could probably serve for self-defense if it ever came to that.
It's possible to post the cap, but I feel that makes it too heavy in the back. The cap snaps on, unlike the 517. I really liked the 517, but the plastic threads wore out, so I can't say that's a worthwhile pen.
The body and the cap are perfectly straight-- there is no tapering, which you might think from this photo.

RealZeroI have no clue how ya'll actually FULLY clean your fountain pens, like, fully residue-free.
By now I've accepted I'll just need a seperate converter for each ink, as I don't have the feeling any non-metal part ever gets fully clean with just water.
Ah well, time to let it all rest in water over night for the occasional ink refresher. đ đ

Gunnar BergfalkeSome people say fountain pens from Nakaya and Platinum have nibs that are interchangeable, if the same size. Maybe some are, but in my limited experience they just look like they would be until you disassemble. I even think I have misplaced the feeds in this photo because they look so similar.
