Over the past 1.5 years I started closing all my accounts at BMO and CIBC including my first savings account. We’ve closed or moved credit lines and cards. Just yesterday I put in the paperwork to have my RRSP accounts moved (fee-free!). We’ve created a new financial home at sustainability minded credit union VanCity. Just a couple more items on the checklist to go and we’ll be able to close the last account and say goodbye to Fossil Banks for good! It can be done!
