Tra i premiati ai Nastri d’Argento 2026 per il particolare valore, anche dal punto di vista giornalistico, il Premio speciale va al documentario Quarant’anni senza Giancarlo Siani, scritto da Pietro Perone e Filippo Soldi, che ne firma anche la regia.
Il film, prodotto da Combo International in collaborazione con Rai Documentari, è un omaggio rigoroso e civile alla storia del giovane cronista de Il Mattino, assassinato sotto casa dalla camorra il 23 settembre 1985. Siani aveva 26 anni e pagò con la vita il coraggio e la tenacia di non lasciarsi intimidire dalle minacce, continuando a raccontare i legami tra criminalità organizzata e potere.
Il documentario ripercorre non solo la vicenda umana e professionale di Giancarlo Siani, ma anche il lungo e complesso percorso di verità che ha portato all’individuazione dei responsabili del delitto, tra silenzi, depistaggi e omissioni. L’opera si ispira al lavoro di ricostruzione storica sul “pool Siani” contenuto nel libro Giancarlo Siani.
