As part of a plea agreement, Patel signed an acknowledgment that he committed one of his offenses alongside Fort Bend County Judge KP George -- who has been accused of a similar crime. Patel worked on George’s campaign and also previously served as his chief of staff.

Fort Bend County Jail inmate found dead in cell

Tamion Kenon, 34, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon two days before his death. He was found alone in his cell, according to the district attorney's office, which says Kenon's cause of death is still under investigation.
