After all, #VivaldiTechnologies is a company that relies mainly on this. Some people complain about #DirectMatch and #sponsored #searchEngines, even though they are removable. If they would #openSource it, soon there would appear a “#debloated #Vivaldi” version #forked by some people. How would Vivaldi make #money then, I ask you?

Seriously, I hope @fdroidorg / #Fdroid and other #3rdParty #AppStores actively consider this #AntiCompetitive action by Google as an act of #sabotage.

Three years ago, I was part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining Kubernetes clusters for end user customers. A main source for downtime in customer environments occurred when image registries went down. The traditional way to solve this problem is to set up a stateful mirror, however we had to work within customer budget and time constraints which did not allow it. During a Black Friday, we started getting hit with a ton of traffic while GitHub container registries were down. This limited our ability to scale up the cluster as we depended on critical images from that registry. After this incident, I started thinking about a better way to avoid these scalability issues. A solution that did not need a stateful component and required minimal operational oversight. This is where the idea for Spegel came from.

Well everybody, it has come to my attention that #WordPress ™©® may need to be #forked for the good of the group.

Has anyone been a part of any of the big forkings of the past or manage any #opensource projects that have any insight about what it might take to accomplish such a task?

I know making a fresh GitHub account is basically Step Negative 15. What sort of challenges would a new community fork of WordPress be facing?

I personally would be willing to contribute all that I can which most likely wouldn't be a huge help just because I'm not that knowledgeable but if anybody is starting out in that direction I'd be willing to join up.
