Unexpected guests: just found some beauty berries growing in the backyard!

I don't know much about them - trying to determine if they're ripe - but hoping to keep enough around to have a good little jelly patch return every year 🤪

Been foraging a bunch with all the plants coming back to life around me! I've picked some linden flowers for tea, got some white and black mulberries to use in baking, and even found some sweet cherries at a rest stop on a backroad! Also picked some serviceberries from a tree right outside my doctor's office yesterday. It's been really fun looking around and seeing all the food just waiting to be picked🌿✨️

Getting an early start on the wild garlic pesto this spring 🙂👍

Aka bear’s garlic, ransoms, buckrams, wood garlic, cowleekes, Bärlauch, wilde knoflook, & more, Allium ursinum makes a lovely alternative to basil, added garlic being unnecessary.

I’ll also pickle some flower buds when they sprout a bit later on.

And best of all, it grows all over the place here in the woods 😋
